In Saint John, tackling the complex barriers that young people face requires more than one effort; it requires an ecosystem of support.
For more than 20 years, WorkingNB and the Saint John Learning Exchange (SJLE) have worked together to create opportunities for New Brunswickers facing barriers to education and employment.
With high rates of youth employment, the Saint John Learning Exchange is working to support young people who are not in education, employment or training. Christina Fowler, the president and CEO of the Saint John Learning Exchange and Nickole Theriault, who was a learner at the exchange.
A growing partnership between LiUNA Local 900 and The Saint John Learning Exchange is creating new opportunities for learners to move directly into the workforce, while helping meet the rising demand in the skilled trades.
