Power Up is a 10-week leadership program designed to help participants take their next steps in life. During the program women work both collectively and independently to build skills and prepare for further education or training, employment, or volunteer opportunities. Participants spend considerable time understanding the value of setting and implementing goals.
Power Up creates many opportunities for women to identify and connect with resources in their community. This includes conducting research, as well as engaging with guest speakers from community organizations, local non-profits, and government agencies. These connections provide participants with information about topics such as leadership, financial literacy, personal development, creativity, and self-advocacy.
Learners earn incentives for program attendance, as well as for setting and achieving academic, employment, and personal development goals that they set with a coach. The program also connects learners to community partners and resources to support overcoming personal challenges.
