Our story began back in 1983 when the Saint John Human Development Council launched an Adult Literacy Pilot Project. The goal was to meet the literacy needs of Greater Saint John. One year later in December of 1984, the Saint John Learning Exchange was born. Since then we have helped thousands of Saint John residents meet their academic and employment goals.
Our mandate has always been to serve the steady flow of individuals looking for a place where they can discover their strengths and individual learning goals. Over the years we have evolved tremendously from our initial focus on literacy. We have grown with our community to offer programs such as the Community Adult Learning Programs (CALP), Basic Education Skills Training (BEST), as well as employment focused training and support such as our Work Essential Skills (WES) program, and the WorkLinks team.
A lot has changed over the past 30 years, but one thing has stayed the same: we are here to help you achieve your academic and employment goals. Contact us here and let us know where you want to go, and find out how we can help!
